BRUSHING OR ANTIQUING

This is a technique used to confer a consumed aspect to the surface of the slab. The processing is performed with abrasive brushes, which cut into the material where it has softer concentrations. The result is an irregular but polished surface.

BUSH HAMMERING

This is a technique used to give the slab a sculpted aspect, which is not smooth, defining a rough and pointed surface.

DRESSING

Surface treatment performed by milling, to make the surface smooth and opaque, but not to polish it.

SURFACE PROCESSING AND FINISHING

On marble slabs we can perform a variety of processes in order to enhance the quality and naturalness of the marble. As an example Cremavorio marble was used, performing the following operations: dressing, brushing (or antiquing), sanding, polishing, rolling, bush hammering. The same treatment can 'be applied to almost all the marbles, but it will be our pleasure to suggest such processes are best suited to every type of marble slab.

In addition to elavorazioni outlined below, at the Center for Manufacturing Valchiampo (CE.L.VA), you can also run on slabs of marble and resin screening.

POLISHING

This phase takes place through the use of band polishing machines and processing through milling, which confers brightness to previously smoothed surfaces.

SANDING

Sanding smoothes the slab with a jet of water mixed with sand, from a nozzle that can be adjusted to different speeds.

SCRATCHING

Impact surface treatment with a linear trace. This treatment produces alternating grooves and crests on the surface.
